If you want to experience pure joy, visit the campers at Mt. Calvary Outreach Center during June and July. The building comes alive as over 125 campers and staffers fill the halls. Bible lessons are taught, along with songs and dances. Educational games and lessons are included in order to keep skills fresh during the time away from school. The staffers also focus on building good character in the campers. The hope is that not only will campers find a safe refuge at MCOC, but also that they'll learn a sense of community and have a desire to make a positive impact on others as they grow up. The older students have participated in Youth Serve, a home repair and discipleship program sponsored by Kershaw Area Resource Exchange. By participating in this program, they learn home repair skills, participate in Bible study, art and recreation with a group of area teens.
